Gorey Penny Bank

Donated 1,000 euro to the appeal.

Ladies Section, Courtown Golf Club

Raised 2,000 euro for the appeal.

Monaseed Community

Raised over 800 euro through a church gate collection.

Bernie Carroll

Organised a tug-of-war in her area recently and has raised over 6,000 euro with more to come.

Bunclody Community Group Donation

Bunclody Community Resources Ltd. presented a cheque for ten thousand euro to the appeal.

Wexford Drama Group

Presented the proceeds of their production of the play 'Blithe Spirit' in Wexford Arts Centre recently to the appeal.

Enniscorthy Committee Charity Ball

The Enniscorthy Area Fundraising Committee of the Friends of Wexford General Hospital raised over 20,000 euro with their Charity Ball held in the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy in mid November. The coffers were swelled thanks to the generosity of the hotel owners who donated the meal to add to the fundraising effort.

Charity Cycle

The housekeeping staff at Wexford General Hospital got on their bikes (literally!) for the appeal on Saturday, November 25th with their charity cycle from Enniscorthy to Rosslare.

Family Effort

The White & Browne families in the south of the county made it a real family effort, organising a number of events which raised several thousand euro for the appeal, including a golf classic, a Bric-a-Brac sale, a make-up demonstration evening, a poker tournament and involvement in the Dublin marathon in October.

Gusserane Card Drive

John Colfer of Kilbraney organised a Progressive 45 Card Night in the community hall in Gusserane in November.

Table Quiz

A table quiz and raffle was organised by Wexford District Hospital staff in the Riverbank Hotel in late November.

Newbawn Card Game and Raffle

This was held in Newbawn Hall on November 22nd.

Coffee Mornings

Anne O' Neill of Aughnagally, Enniscorthy held a coffee morning that raised 692 euro for the appeal.

The ladies of Oylegate ran another in Mernaghs on November 30th.

Carol Service

The carol service hosted by Carrigbyrne Pike Choir in Cushinstown Church on Wednesday, December 6th. raised 502 euro for the appeal. Sincere thanks to all concerned. The choir, drawn from singers throughout the county will be holding another carol service on Friday night next, December 15th. at 8p.m. this time in Rathgarogue Church. All welcome.

Tractor Run

The vintage tractor run from the Harrow to Wexford and back on Sunday, 3rd. December was an outstanding success, raising over 14,000 for the appeal. It was carried out in very bad weather on the day. Well done to Andy Leacy, Jim Gahan and all concerned.

Sponsored cycle/draw

Many thanks to the staff of Kelly's Hotel in Rosslare who raised a whopping 7,000 through a sponsored cycle and draw. Thanks to Josie Bishop for her help in organising the event.

Bazaar

Sincere thanks to Kitty Conway who ran a Bazaar in the Dun Mhuire which raised 2,300 euro for the appeal. The total was raised to 5,300 by the very generous donation of 3,000 by Goffs Builders to whom we extend grateful thanks for the kind gesture.

Bingo Draw

Annette Healy ran a draw at the local bingo sessions in the Dun Mhuire for three weeks running and raised 4,000 euro for the appeal. Many thanks Annette!

Coffee Morning

Pauric McDonagh, Nigel Brennan, Sarah-Jane Doyle, Michael Murphy and Jack Brennan of Bunclody Vocational School organised and ran a coffee morning on Tuesday, the 5th. of December in aid of the appeal. The event was held in St. Aidan's Hall in Bunclody from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and was greatly supported by students from the school and their teachers and the local community. A big thank you to everyone who contributed and helped in any way. Well done students!

BP Monitoring

Grateful thanks to Alan Kelly and Jimmy Gilhooly who did blood pressure monitoring on the Main Street in Wexford on Saturday, 16th. of December. They raised over 8,000 euro for the appeal - a fantastic contribution.

Donation

Thanks to the Winter/Keane families for their generous donation of 850 euro to the appeal. It's much appreciated.

Christmas Swims

People in Blackwater and Rosslare Harbour and the environs gave up part of their Christmas Day to take part in sponsored swims in aid of the appeal. Both events were greatly supported in terms of the number of people who swam on the day (50 in the case of Rosslare Harbour) and those who turned out to lend encouragement and support. The Rossalare Harbour swim raised 6,500 euro to date, some sponsorship is still outstanding. The Blackwater swim raised 1,176.28 while a combination of other events organised by the Blackwater community has resulted in over 7,000 euro in total being added to the appeal. Well done and many thanks to both communities!

Carol Service

Thanks to Gorey Choral Group for running a carol service in aid of the appeal.

Musical interludes

Many thanks to all the musical groups who entertained patrons of the Amber Springs Hotel at their party nights during December and to the management and staff of the hotel for allowing the Gorey Area Fundraising Committee to feature the music and take up bucket collections for the appeal.

Fun Run/Walk

Thanks to the organisers, Saleny Olympic Athletics Club and all who took part in the St. Stephen's Day fun run/walk in aid of the appeal. It was a great success with many turning out on the day to take part or otherwise support the event.

Sponsored Walk

Grateful thanks to all those who took part in the St. Stephen's Day sponsored walk from the Hotel Saltees, walking off the Christmas turkey and pudding! The generosity of those who supported the event is also much appreciated.

Santa's Pub Crawl

Thanks to all those who took part in the sponsored Santa pub crawl in Wexford on Friday night, the 22nd. of December.

Thank you Blackwater!

Thanks to the people of Blackwater and district who held a whole host of events over the Christmas period in aid of the appeal and have many more lined up for the New Year. That's the spirit!

Christmas Carol Service

A big 'thank you' to the people of Rosslare Harbour who supported and to those who organised the Christmas Carol service in aid of the appeal on December 23rd. in the Memorial Park in Rosslare Harbour.  720 euro was raised on the evening.

Cabaret

Sincere thanks to David Bury aka 'The Wicklow Man' and the Anvil pub in Ballymurn who raised 1,850 through a cabaret and raffle held there recently in aid of the appeal. Thanks also to all who supported the night.

Yoga & Relaxation Evening

The yoga and relaxation evening organised by Angie Cousins and held in the Quality Hotel recently raised 1,500 euro on the night with further pledges expected to swell the total to around 2,000 euro. Angie's efforts are much appreciated. Thanks too the Quality Inn who provided the venue free and to all those who supported the event.

Tea Dance

A big thank you to the organisers of the regular Tea Dance in Camross Hall who donated the proceeds on Sunday, 21st. January to the appeal. They raised 760 euro. Thanks to all who supported the afternoon event.

Anonymous Donations

Grateful thanks to all those individuals, groups and businesses who have made donations to the appeal anonymously or without giving their full names and contact details. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

Golf outing

Many thanks to Billy Corrigan and the CK Golf Society who ran a golf outing in Carlow recently for the appeal. They also ran an auction and raffle at a follow-up social evening in Jordan's pub. Thanks to all who took part, all who supported the events, the ticket sellers, Darren McCarthy of the Club in Enniscorthy who sponsored the raffle prizes, Dan Galfin who hosted the golf and Jordan's who sponsored the band on the night. The combined events realised 2,900 euro for the appeal.

American Tea Party

Sincere thanks to Florrie Grace and her band of hard workers who organised the American Tea Party in the Horse and Hound in Ballinaboola on Friday night, the 2nd. of February, raising 8,000 euro for the appeal. Well done and thanks to all who supported what was a great night.

Bagatelle Concert

Congratulations and a big 'well done' to C.J. Doyle and Paul Flood who organised the concert featuring Bagatelle in the Brandon House Hotel on Friday, 2nd. February. Well over 20,000 was raised through the concert and auction for the appeal. Thanks also who supported the event on what was a most enjoyable and memorable night.

Table Quiz

Ballyoughter ICA raised 840 euro with their table quiz, held in the Parkside Lounge in Camolin on Thursday, 1st. February. Thanks to them and all who came out on the night and supported the event, and the raffle. The
prizewinners all donated their cash prizes back to the appeal and we thank them for their generosity.

Hunt

Thanks to the Monageer/Island Hunt who raised 3,005 wth an event in January.

Singing Duo Concert

Popular singers Stephen Murphy and David O' Connor raised 3,750 euro with their concert in the Belfield Campus in Enniscorthy on January 20th. Thanks lads, and to all those who came along on the night.

Fundraising sisters

A big 'thank you' to Kitty Conway and the Collimore sisters for organising various fundraising events in aid of the appeal. Also to Goffs who've been helping them with their fundraising, donating a total of 5,600 euro. They're still at it too...........Kitty is now organising a sale of paintings that have been donated. More details coming up on that.

Donations

Thanks to Oylegate GAA for the collection they took up at their dinner dance on February 3rd. which raised over 1,000 euro for the appeal, and to St. Senan's Social Club for their donation of 1,000 euro, to Gofffs who have donated a total of 5,600 euro and the Co. Wexford Retired Nurses Association for their donation and to all the individuals and companies who have given donations.

Christmas Swim

The final tally for the Christmas swim held in Rosslare Harbour is 9,200 euro. Thanks to Michael Healy and all who organised the swim and all those who took to the chilly waters on the day, and of course, not forgetting, all those who showed real Christmas spirit by sponsoring the event so generously.

Wexford Area Fundraising Committee:

The Wexford Area Fundraising Committee raised more than 75,000 euro through their gala ball and auction held in the Talbot Hotel on Friday, the 2nd. of March. The event, organised by John Pettitt, Wexford Area Fundraising Committee Chairman and his committee, was a great success with lively bidding at the auction raising the total to a whopping 46,000 euro. Many thanks to the committee, to all those who supported the event, those who provided extra sponsorship, including main sponsors Campus Oil and to the Talbot Hotel management and staff for a super night out. Thanks also to the band 'Some Like It Hot' for providing a great musical experience on the night.

School helps out

Courtnacuddy National School held a 'no uniform' event recently to support the appeal. Well done to all and a big 'thank you'.

Slaney Meats comes up trumps

A big 'well done' and thank you to the management and staff of Slaney Meats in Bunclody who held a mock wedding to raise funds for the appeal. They also went the more painful route with a series of leg waxes and head shaves during a social night in Enniscorthy Rugby Club on Friday, the 2nd. of March. They raised almost 22,000 euro altogether.

Thanks bingo goers!

The generosity of bingo goers in Marshalstown, Enniscorthy meant a further nearly 1,500 euro for the appeal. It was raised through a raffle held during the bingo there on Thursday, the 1st. of March. Thanks to Marshalstown Bingo
Committee and the ICA and all who gave.

Stars in Their Eyes

This very successful event, held in the Blackwater Lodge on Saturday, the 2nd. of March raised 4,200 euro and we're told that money is still coming in! Well done to all on a great fun night out and to all those who put in a lot of hard work to make it a success. Thanks too to all who supported the event so generously.

Carnew does it bit!

The community in Carnew got behind the appeal with three different events, a vintage ploughing match, a church gate collection and a raffle netting a total of 4,635 euro. Thanks to Aggie Summers and all there who organised the events and to those who responded with such generosity.

Charity Hunt

The Wicklow Hunt raised 2,500 through an event they organised recently and a collection taken up at a social evening in Nolan's of Annagh, Gorey, on Saturday the 2nd. of March. Thanks to Wesley Noblett and all concerned
for their great effort.

Race Night

Another very successful event was the pre-Cheltenham race night held in the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey on Friday, the 2nd. of March. It was organised by Maurice and Felicity Cousins of Barnadown Stud. Sincere thanks to them and to all who turned out to support the night.

Cabaret

'Come to the cabaret' they did in droves in Camolin recently! The evening, organised by James and Mary Stafford and held in Jack's Tavern, raised 5,730 euro. Thanks to all who helped out and those who supported it.

Sheep Sale

Customers of Carnew Mart responded so generously to a recent sale of sheep organised by David Quinn and staff that the event raised 7,500 euro for the appeal. Customers donated sheep and even a Limousin cow and they were equally generous in buying and donating to support the sale. Thanks to the organisers and all who turned out on the days.

Concert

Many thanks to Tina Morris and her helpers for the very successful concert which took place in the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey on St. Patrick's Night. 11,000 euro was raised for the appeal through their efforts. Thanks also to all who supported the event by buying tickets even when they couldn't attend, and to all who went along on the night and also to all who contribute to and supported the raffle.

Head Shave

Young David Graham had his long auburn locks shorn in aid of the appeal and raised 2,200 euro in the process. Thanks to David and all who generously sponsored him.

Sale of Bird Nesting Boxes

John Brophy and the good people of Gorey Tidy Towns Committee raised 1,063 for the appeal through the sale of bird nesting boxes. They took to Gorey's Main Street recently to sell the boxes and met with a very positive response from the public. Well done and many thanks to all involved.

Vintners Donation

Thanks to the Vintners for their recent donation of 1,300 for the appeal.

Beauty & Pamper Day

Sincere thanks to Wendy Anglim and her helpers for their Beauty & Pamper Day held in the FDYS centre in Wexford on Friday, 16th. of March. It raised 330 euro for the appeal.

Music & Dance Evening

Well done to organisers Ann Hamill, Vera O' Sullivan and Catherine O' Connor who organised an evening of music and dance at the Hydro in Kilmuckridge in the Hydro in Kilmuckridge on Friday, 30th. March, raising 7,031.07.
Sincere thanks as well to all who attended on the night, to all who supported the raffle, all those who bought tickets but couldn't attend and finally to the all important artists who performed free of charge on the night.

Taghmon ICA

Many thanks to Taghmon ICA who raised 1,050 euro for the appeal with a recent event.

Tennis Marathon

Many thanks to the women of Gorey Tennis Club who raised over 6,000 euro through their tennis marathon held on Good Friday/Easter Saturday and to all those who supported the event through sponsorship.

Coffee Morning

A recent coffee morning in Clonevan Old School Ballygarrett raised 2,342 euro for the appeal. Sincere thanks to Anne Baile, Pat Millard, Annette McCarthy and Bridie Casey and their helpers for organising the event and grateful thanks too to all those who supported it.

Fashion Show

Well done to the organisers of a fashion show which took place in the Amber Springs Hotel on April 12th. in aid of the appeal. It raised over 7,000 euro for the fund. Thanks to Sheila Murphy and her staff of Sally West, to Anita and Deborah, daughters of the late Kathleen Egan, a former staff member at Sally West, who sadly passed away from cancer last year and in whose memory the event was held. Thanks too to Jalanda Children's Wear and Leacey's Menswear who also featured fashion wear for the show, and to all those who donated door and raffle prizes. Lastly a big thank you to the models who gave their time, includng You're A Star winner David O' Connor, and to those who came along on the night.

Stars in Your Eyes

This event, run in Nolan's pub in Annagh, Gorey, benefitted three charities, including the Friends Cancer Day Unit Appeal. The appeal benefitted to the tune of 3,500 euro and is much appreciated. Thanks to all concerned.

Raffle of Knitted Goods

Sincere thanks to the Ballyoughter 'Knit n Twist' club who held a raffle of their knitted goods in the Ashdown Park Hotel on Monday, 2nd. April. They raised 1,500 from the raffle, adding to the money previously raised by Ballyoughter ICA through a table quiz.

Dance

A dance held in Tir na nOg, Wellingtonbridge on Sunday, 1st. April in aid of the appeal raised 2,500 euro. Thanks to Rene Bennett and all concerned.

Sponsored Walk/Run

Thanks to the members of Ferns Women's Club who organised a sponsored run/walk in aid of the appeal on Sunday, 15th. April. They're also planning a second fundraiser, a sponsored waxing featuring some of the
local male community! More details on that to come.

Coffee Morning

A coffee morning held in Ballyvaloo convent on March 18th. raised over 1,500 euro for the appeal. Many thanks to Margaret Sinnott, the staff and nuns of the convent.

Slaney Meats

Thanks to the workers at Slaney Meats who through a variety of events raised 23,500 for the appeal.

Poulpeasty Youth Club raffle

Poulpeasty Youth Club did their bit for the appeal with a raffle which raised almost 1,300 euro. Many thanks.

Ballindaggin/Kiltealy Pipe Band

The band combined a number of events to raise 4,200 for the appeal and deserve our thanks for their efforts.

Whist Players

Thanks to Nellie Doyle and all the monthly whist players in Enniscorthy Community Workshop who recently raised over 1,300 for the appeal.

Irish Music Night

The organising committee and all the musicians who participated in the recent Irish Music Night in the Riverside Park Hotel are thanked for their efforts, they raised a whopping 7,000 euro for the appeal.

Oulart Effort

Well done and thanks to Kathleen Hyland, Lil O' Toole and the people of Oulart who held a series of fundraising events over the Easter weekend for the appeal.

Race Night

Thank you Julie Barlow, Kay Enright, the Hennessy family of Ballymurn and all who helped organise and those who attended the race night held in the Riverbank House Hotel on Easter Sunday night. Over 8,000 was raised.

Giant Auction

Grateful thanks to Jim Ryan, Noirin Binions and the Mount Leinster Shorthorn Breeders Association who held a giant auction and sale in Monaseed recently and raised 3,342 for the appeal. Thanks to all who helped organise the event and all those who supported it on the day.

Family Fun/Balloon Release Day

A big 'thank you' to Trisha Boyce and all who helped her organised the family fun day which was held on Easter Sunday afternoon in the Memorial Park in Rosslare Harbour. Lovely sunny weather helped make the day a great success. There was music and entertainment for the whole family. A very moving part of the afternoon was the release of hundreds of balloons in memory of people who have died and people who have battled cancer. The event raised over 13,000 euro for the cancer day unit appeal. Thanks to
all who supported it.

Ladies Night

Well done and thanks to Leslie Cullen and her team who organised a Ladies Night in Blackwater recently. It raised 1,500 euro for the appeal. Thanks too to the management and staff of Etchinghams pub who laid on a lovely buffet free of charge and otherwise were of great help in running the event. Thanks as well to all the kind people who donated prizes for the raffle. Not forgetting of course all the women who attended to support the event.

Duncormick Friends Group

The Duncormick Friends of Wexford General Hospital Group had a night on the 14th. of April in the Scaville Lodge for the appeal which raised 18,300 euro. More money is still coming in. Sincere thanks to all who helped in any way to those who and to Lila McDonald and the organisers.

Cabaret

A cabaret night was held recently in Ballindaggin in aid of the appeal. It raised over 4,000 euro. Thanks to Michael Donovan and all who helped organise it and to everyone who supported the event.

Gorey Community School

Grateful thanks to the students of Gorey Community School who raised 1,800 euro for the appeal through their recent 'Bene Merenti' night. Thanks to teachers and students who organised the event and decided to support the appeal in this way.

Pool Tournament

A big 'thank you' to all involved in organising the John O' Sullivan Memorial Pool Tournament and all who supported the event, which raised over 1,500 euro for the cancer day unit appeal.

Duncormick Friends of Friends

A group calling themselves the Duncormick Friends of Wexford General Hospital ran a fundraiser on April 14th. which raised over 20,000 for the appeal. It was held in the Scaville Lodge. Thanks to Lila McDonald and the other organisers and all who went along on the night.

Table Quiz

Residents of Monageer turned out to support a second fundraiser run at the Monageer Tavern recently.
The table quiz raised a whopping 3,500 euro for the appeal. Sincere thanks to Seamus Canavan of the Monageer Tavern and all who took part.

Ladies Mini-Marathon

A huge 'thank you' to the following who took part in the Flora Women's Mini-Marathon which took place on the June Bank Holiday weekend in Dublin, raising a substantial amount for the Friends of Wexford General Hospital Cancer Day Unit Appeal.
